Another one of my very favorite threads from before! Feel free to re-post anything you remember saying in the original thread, or anything you may have already said here if you think it would make a good entry.
You know you're a synesthete when...
- you go to a baby shower where the mom is having a girl and you want to add lots of letter A's to the decorations because A's are pink.
- you see 'T29' on a license plate and your brain insists it says '429' because T and 4 are both yellow.
- you're always on the lookout for syn-like comments or tendencies in your kids, family, friends, etc. |

-You analyse your food's shapes to try and work out what goes into it.
-You remember different co-enzymes by their personalities
- You teach chemistry (I'm doing some tutoring) using the elements' personalities as examples. ("Silver is a really great guy, very loyal. And that's why he doesn't dissociate with his girlfriends. He keeps them close to him, even when he's surrounded by cuter water molecules" A valid comment both chemically and synaesthetically speaking!) |

-In high school art, you consistently used 'sweet' and 'salty' to describe colours on your annotations |

<*> You make pictures of songs on photoshop.
<*> You can't imagine 5 getting up to any fun if you try, because he's middle-aged and very staid. |

- when you're trying to remember a word, you can see/feel/taste/smell/hear it but can't seem to remember what it actually is (and you yell out "i remember that! it has an e and an i in it! It's light green/yellow!!")
- you try to explain how you can feel what the word is but you don't actually know it...and people give you looks
- and yes kela, you're always over-analyzing your friends's/family's comments hoping that they have syn too
- you get really panicy (not a word haha) when you see a letter/number that's the wrong color
- you've taken the test on synesthete.org
(MRB...5 is fun and young! and pink! ) |

~ You can no longer use a metaphor without thinking about the Nexus and syn in general
~ You read quotes and metaphors and wonder if that's how someone with a different type of syn really sees it. (or know the people are wrong because it's not how you see it.)
~ And I think we can all agree with Kela's over-analyzing of friends and family. |

- when your brother is playing the piano, you ask him to play the music that's like the letter 'S' or the red blue and yellow one - ('I told you when you played it last that it was like an S. You must know which one I mean!') |

You catch yourself saying things like "It smells like Friday in here" in a room full of people. (I'm not even sure where that one came from, but it really did smell like the word Friday feels!) |

....you get a new cell phone and you hate the phone # because it's brown/green/yellow. (What a horrible combination!) |

- when your dog gets lost in the neighborhood, you listen for colors -- either her purplish bark or the white and green tinkles of the tags on her collar. (We found her pretty fast, and she's fine -- she crawled through a space underneath a neighbor's fence a few doors down and she was extremely proud of herself. ) |

Or the number is an ugly sky blue/white/ugly pink combination. It almost made me cry it was so bad. |
